Dr. Allison is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition and Co-Director of the MS Program in Sports Medicine (https://www.shrs.pitt.edu/mssm/). She also serves as the Principal Investigator for the Marine Corps research initiative, serves as a co-investigator on all Department of Defense research activities, and specializes in exercise physiology-related data collection and dissemination. Prior to joining the NMRL as faculty, Katelyn completed her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Pittsburgh, where she also competed in Cross Country and Track. She completed her doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Pittsburgh and also spent four years as a Graduate Research Associate at the NMRL. Her research interests include the effect of fatigue on proprioception and neuromusclar control, exercise and nutritional contributions to injury prevention, health, and performance optimization, and female injury prevention, performance enhancement, and health.
